A child's own name is the most motivating word to trace. These samples show the layout; type any name in the generator for a personalised sheet, or paste a class roster for one PDF per child.
A name sheet has four rows in the classroom sequence: the name as a model, traced, dotted, and then blank rules to write it alone. The samples here show the layout at three sizes; the pre-K version at 1-inch rules uses two traced rows because the youngest writers need more repetitions before the dotted row. The class roster sample shows what a teacher gets when a list of names is pasted into the generator: one page per child, in one PDF or as a ZIP of separate files, all on the same ruling.
Two things are worth checking before printing a class set: the longest name, which decides whether the rows need a smaller grade height, and the capitals, since children whose names begin with G, Q, S or Z meet the capitals that differ most from print. The name pages on this site show the capital's stroke order for the fifty most common US names, and the letter pages cover the rest. Every sheet carries a name line and a date line so finished pages can go into a folder and show the change over a term.
