To join t to h, let the exit stroke of the t rise from the baseline and become the first stroke of the h. Nothing about the h changes; the pen simply does not lift.

How a baseline join works
The first letter finishes on the baseline and its exit stroke becomes the entry stroke of the next letter, rising from the line. This is the default connection in every cursive model and the one learners meet first, because nothing about the second letter has to change.
The mistake to watch for
Learners lift the pen between the two letters, or start the second letter from the top instead of riding up from the baseline; the fix is to write both letters in one movement and let the connector do the work.

Write th on its own a few times, then inside the words below, then in a sentence. This is an easy join: once the first letter is finished properly the second follows without thought, so a single short session is usually enough.
