About Manufacturing Consent

Manufacturing Consent is a formal script by Fredrick Brennan, published under the SIL Open Font License. It is partly joined: most lowercase letters connect, a few pairs stand apart. Its x-height is tall at 43 percent of the em, so the lowercase is large and reads clearly at small sizes. Strokes are plain, with swashes that stay within the letter (swash extent 0.088). The stance is upright. It suits wedding stationery, invitations, certificates.

Pairs that do not join: bo, br, ov, ow, vi, wa, sr, gl, jh, yb, ss.

Using Manufacturing Consent

Keep Manufacturing Consent at 14 point or larger in print and 18 pixels or larger on screen; below that the letter shapes start to blur. Export SVG for cutting machines and use the Weld option so the joined letters cut as one shape; the pairs that stand apart cut as separate pieces. Use PNG at 300 DPI for print. Before committing, type the pairs bo, br, ov, ow in the generator: these are the ones that do not connect in this face.
