How to write Nora in cursive

Start with the capital N: a small entry loop, then two humps, the second ending in a tail. Its tail runs straight into the o, so the pen stays down. The o is an oval closed at the top with a short exit stroke at the midline; it hands over to the r with a short bridge at the midline, so the r starts high instead of from the line. The r is a short upstroke to the midline, a tiny shoulder to the right, then a downstroke to the baseline; it runs from the baseline straight into the a. The a is an oval closed at the top, then a downstroke on its right side that exits at the baseline, and its exit stroke finishes the word.

Nothing is added after the word: there is no i, j, t or x to dot or cross. A common slip in Nora is skipping the shoulder of r, which turns it into a stray upstroke.

Where Nora in cursive is used

A name in cursive goes on place cards, nursery art, a monogrammed gift, a cake topper or the signature line of a card. The PNG and SVG above are for those: the PNG drops into a card layout, the SVG scales for a cutting machine or a printer. The signature-style render suits an email footer or a card, and the tracing PDF is for a child learning to write Nora. The text styles are for a bio, a caption or a message, where an image cannot go.
