Negative Circled looks like white letters on black circles. Each letter is replaced by a different Unicode character from Enclosed Alphanumerics and Dingbats and others. Every one of the 52 letters has a styled form, so nothing stays plain. Digits are styled too. Because the characters are part of Unicode, they paste into any field that accepts text and keep their look without a font being installed; what they cannot do is be restyled by a font menu.

Where Negative Circled works

People paste Negative Circled into gaming names, Discord names and comments where they want to stand out. Bios and display names on Discord, Roblox and Steam often keep it; Instagram usernames and most sign-up forms reject it; older phones show boxes for some of the characters. Screen readers read the enclosed or lookalike characters one at a time, so it is for decoration, not information.

How to use Negative Circled

Type your text in the box; Negative Circled updates as you type, and the related styles at the foot of the page show the same text for comparison. Press Copy on the Negative Circled card, then paste into the app with a long press on a phone or Ctrl or Cmd and V on a desktop. If the app shows empty boxes, the device has no font for these characters; if the text reverts to plain letters on save, the field filters them, and a different style or an image from the font generator is the way round it.
