Cursive Generator
Kindergarten sheets use 1-inch and 3/4-inch lines, a few letters per page and repeated tracing rows. Cursive is rarely formal at this age; these sheets build the motions (curves, bumps, loops) that make later instruction easier.
At this age the goal is the motion, not the letter. The four letters on each sheet share one movement (the counter-clockwise oval of c, a, d and g; the short upstroke and retrace of i, u, w and t), and the repeated tracing rows let a child feel the movement several times before trying it alone. Sheets use 1-inch and 3/4-inch rules because small hands make large movements; a letter that is too small to trace becomes a scribble.
Name tracing is the most motivating sheet in the pack. A child will trace their own name long after they have tired of the alphabet, so the name sheet sits on the same pre-K rules with a model row, a traced row and a dotted row; the generator makes one for any name or a whole class list. Keep sessions to a few minutes, praise the motion rather than the result, and move to the grade 2 letter-formation sheets only when the ovals and upstrokes are steady.
